Nomination Form - Senate Committee Vacancies for Senators


Please use this form to nominate senators (self-nominations welcome) to fill available vacancies on Senate Committees and other Senate-elected positions (e.g., representatives on the Board of Governors). All positions start on July 1, 2014.

For your information, membership terms are normally three years in duration except for student positions (one year). Some terms are shorter, in cases where a person is elected to complete an unexpired/vacant term.

If only one candidate runs for a position, that candidate is acclaimed upon approval of the Nominating Committee report at the May 2014 Senate meeting. If multiple candidates put their name forward for a position, those candidates will be contacted by the Secretariat. If multiple candidates wish to have their names stand for the same position, an election will be held by electronic vote after the May 2014 Senate meeting. Candidates will be required to provide a short biography for the purposes of the election.

*Positions denoted with an asterisk indicate committees where a position may be filled by a Faculty Senator or faculty member, depending on the nominations that come forward. These committees require a minimum number of faculty senators based on membership requirements.
