Laurier's School of Business & Economics is please to celebrate Dr. Alex Murray as the 2012 addition to our 'Builders Wall'.

Throughout SBE's history, there have been individuals who have led the School in its development. These 'builders' have been champions who have created fundamental change in our faculty.

Dr. Murray was Dean of the School of Business & Economics from 1982 until 1996 and has been a consultant to Federal and State Governments and companies in Canada and the United States on international business and trade strategy. Prior to his academic career, he was a manager with Servicemaster Associates, a Chicago-based international franchising company.

During his time at Laurier, Dr. Murray was instrumental in creating the School we are today, including the creation of initiatives such as PRISM, SBE's full-time MBA program, the Dean's Advisory Council, the Laurier Outstanding Business Leader Award, The Laurier Institute, and the forerunner to today's Economic Outlook series.
