Grading Written Work

Jan 15/14

Date: Jan 15/14
Time: 10:00 - 11:30
Location: DAWB 1-101B
Cost: Free to Laurier community members

What makes a 'grade A' paper versus a 'grade C' paper? How do you explain the difference to students? In this session, we analyze excerpts from student papers to identify general writing criteria to help you mark consistently. The session will appeal to all disciplines, but especially arts and sciences. We will discuss the main differences among graded papers and talk about the type of feedback that will help students improve their writing. Helpful resources on writing and grading will be available.

This workshop is designed for Teaching Assistants and Instructional Assistants.
