About the Facilitator: Dr. Kathy Absolon
In Anishinaabe, Kathy is also known as Minogiizhigokwe , or Shining Day Woman. Kathy is Anishinaabe kwe from Flying Post First Nation in Ontario. She has been a helper and social worker for over twenty years.
Kathy received her PhD from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.
Kathy is also a student of the Matootoo Lake Earth Medicine Lodge where she has been studying and learning about Medicinal plants for the past four years. Currently, Kathy is the Program Coordinator in the MSW Aboriginal Field of Study here at Wilfrid Laurier University.
