WATERLOO CAMPUS: In Search of Culture: My experience in Cree country
Aboriginal Awareness Week 2013 - Waterloo campus
Date: Mar 5/13
Location: Aboriginal Student Centre. 187 Albert Street, Waterloo campus
Presenter Paige Sillaby is a proud Ojibway from the Chippewas of Georgina Island. She is currently a third year Psychology and Global Studies student at Wilfrid Laurier University.
With the support of WLU’s Aboriginal Student Centre, Paige traveled with the Canadian Roots Exchange (CRE) on a three-week educational experience to the northern First Nation community in Moose Factory, Ontario. In this presentation, Paige will share with the group how this experience impacted her, highlighting the importance of creating dialogue between Aboriginal and Non-aboriginal in Canada.
The agenda for this presentation includes a break down of events that took place during the course of her 3 weeks in the host community and critically reflecting on them. For a sneak peak of the presentation, visit: http://sill3700.blog.com/
