Creating and Using Rubrics for Student Assessment (Brantford)
Date: Feb 11/14
Time: 14:00 - 15:30
Location: RCW 324
Scoring rubrics are assessment tools that can be developed and used to clarify to students the criteria and standards by which their work will be judged, as well as ensure consistency of grading across evaluators. Rubrics can also help to expedite the marking process by articulating criteria and performance descriptors in advance.
This session will focus on the development of analytic and holistic scoring rubrics for assignments of any type at the course level. The first half of the workshop will focus on the principles and mechanics of rubric development while the latter half will provide an overview of how to create rubrics in MyLearningSpace that can be linked to the Dropbox and Gradebook.
This session would be of interest to anyone who is interested in learning more about crafting and using scoring rubrics and exchanging ideas and experiences with colleagues, as well as those who would like more information on how to create rubrics in MyLearningSpace.
