Academic Success Workshop - Crash Course

The semester can get busy quickly. Before it does take the Academic Success Workshop and learn the academic skills you need to excel in university. This interactive four hour workshop will cover the following:
Getting Started: Time Management and Learning Styles
What you will learn: the importance of assessing your time requirements, prioritizing tasks, and scheduling your time; your learning preferences and how they can be used to study more effectively; and, how to choose an appropriate study location. Practical exercises included.
Student Academic Life: Readings, Lectures and Note Taking
What you will learn: procedures to actively read and critically assess course readings; how to prepare for lectures; how to take lecture notes effectively for studying; and, how to create effective study aids that will prepare you for tests. Practical exercises included.
Testing with Confidence: Preparing for and Writing Midterms
What you will learn: strategies for preparing for tests and anticipate possible questions; strategies to answer various types of exam questions (including multiple choice and essay questions); and, how to learn from your tests for future tests. Practical exercises included.
