Getting Started: Time Management and Learning Styles

What you will learn: the importance of assessing your time requirements, prioritizing tasks, and scheduling your time; your learning preferences and how they can be used to study more effectively; and, how to choose an appropriate study location. Practical exercises included.

Student Academic Life: Readings, Lectures and Note Taking

What you will learn: procedures to actively read and critically assess course readings; how to prepare for lectures; how to take lecture notes effectively for studying; and, how to create effective study aids that will prepare you for tests. Practical exercises included.

Testing with Confidence: Preparing for and Writing Midterms

What you will learn: strategies for preparing for tests and anticipate possible questions; strategies to answer various types of exam questions (including multiple choice and essay questions); and, how to learn from your tests for future tests. Practical exercises included.
