On September 13, Prime Minister Stephen Harper nominated Graham Fraser to be Official Languages Commissioner. The reaction from Opposition parties and francophone groups was unanimously positive.
Join us for a discussion on the history of Canadian language policy, a subject that Graham Fraser tackles head on with his new book, Sorry, I Don't Speak French: Confronting the Canadian crisis that won't go away published by McClelland and Stewart.
Previously he was a National Affairs Writer and weekly columnist for The Toronto Star, and Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University. Born in Ottawa, he was educated at the University of Toronto where he received a B.A. in 1968 and an M.A. in history in 1973
