Please join us for the first Community of Practice for the fall term concerning teaching with technology. Gary Wagner from ITS will demonstrate a new wireless technology to support faculty in the classroom. The session will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 starting at 1 pm in the DAWB 3-106 (one of the Faculty of Arts active learning classrooms). Please see a description of the session below.
Removing the technical barriers from the classroom. A wireless classroom?
The demonstration will present a solution that will allow faculty and students to wirelessly present, share and interact with each other, within the same room or between Laurierís multiple campuses, in real-time.
Apple TV: Present and share your content wirelessly; allow students to control the presentation within the classroom
Christie Brio: In addition to the functionality of Apple TV,† allow up to five students/groups to work on a shared file and project for the entire class
- Support BYOD for students: Laptops, smartphones, tablets
- Sharing of content: Allows students to share their ideas from their device in real-time
- Whiteboard and annotation: Allows multiple users to collaborate in real-time, in the same room or between Laurier campus
