By invoking PPP, this paper provides the macroeconomic context for a cross-border productivity contest between two firms. It is shown that competitive advantage must be gauged by measuring a firm's productivity improvement relative to its economy. This paper was published in The International Journal of Commerce and Management (2010) Volume 20, Number 1, pp. 41-48.
