Northern Studies Committee Report (2011)
Northern Studies Committee, Wilfrid Laurier University, Chair: Brent Wolfe
published: 2011 | Annual Report | Annual Report
The mandate of the NSC is to administer the NSTP application and reporting process, and to work with the WLU Cold Regions Research Centre (CRRC) to promote northern research and training on campus. The CRRC was established in 1988 and has a rich history of research in northern Canada. The scope of research conducted by CRRC members has traditionally been broad, including studies in hydrology, geochemistry, climate change, resource management, parks planning, anthropology, history, political science and social work. This report outlines the achievements of CRRC affiliated students and faculty during 2011 and displays the strong research programs of the CRRC situated in Canada's north.
