Case Description: Some six months after the ORC (A) Case, management was ready to go back to the Board of Directors with what they felt was the "ideal" computer system for ORC. They followed the board's advice and brought in a consultant who prepared a request for proposals, solicited proposals and reported back to the board. All the proposals involved minicomputer systems and were too expensive. Now management has revised their original proposal for a networked microcomputer system and is preparing for their third presentation to the Board.
