Subject Area:    Business/Government Relations

Key Issues:    Business involvement in the political process; The formation of a new business association

Case Description:    The Executive Director of Business Association is attempting to review the actual impact and possible future role of the association (IPI).  The mandate of the association is unusual in Canada, i.e., to increase the personal involvement of business in the political process.  A recent study has shown that business people constitute the single largest occupational group among politicians in Canada.
