Case Description: In 1999, EDS bought Systemhouse (SHL) from
MCI. EDS Canada was to merge with Systemhouse Canada and to devise a
new strategy for the merged organizations. Internationally, EDS was
much bigger than Systemhouse but in Canada, the two businesses were of
similar size so the merger was a major undertaking for EDS Canada and
its President, Sheelagh Whitakker. The case describes the strategies
and the organization of the two businesses.
