Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation: The Future of the Shinerama Campaign

K. Leonard, C. Newell Kelly

published: 2006 | Case Study | Integrated Cases

Subject Area:    Business Policy/Strategic Management; Integrated

Key Issues:    Information systems; Strategy formulation; Direct marketing; Budgeting/financial management

Case Description:    In this case, a number of interesting issues are raised. Depending on the time allotted to perform the analysis, the depth of discussion and solution could vary tremendously. The case was originally written with an integrative focus, incorporating components from a number of disciplines within business-information systems, finance, organizational behaviour, marketing and strategy and policy development for not-for-profit organizations.  In addition to the above points, the majority of the discussion must focus on the new activities that CCFF and the Shrinerama campaign must begin to explore.  All of the other issues contribute to this problem, however, the future strategy and direction for Shrinerama is the area that must be examined and resolved.  If not, then improving communications or financial control, for example, will improve the overall situation only marginally.
