ABSTRACT: The objective of the research presented in this paper is to develop a systematic formal specification approach that generates control software for automated manufacturing environments. The foundation of this system is a graphical formal model of parallel computation that adequately describes the behavior of the system and provides a framework for analytical techniques to meet the goals of design, modeling, and control of automated manufacturing environments. The proposed control software generator’s objective is to reduce the limitations of software development. Our experimentation shows that the proposed methodology successfully creates generic language control software for several models of automated manufacturing environments using the aforementioned formalism.
