Purpose

The purpose of the grant is to facilitate international research projects. International research projects are defined as those which involve international research partners, rather than projects in an international research location that only involve Laurier researchers. The aim of the grant is to increase Laurier's international research profile, and improve international partnerships so that Laurier researchers become valued partners on other international grant opportunities.

Who Can Apply?

Tenured or Tenure-Track faculty only

Application Requirements

  • Applicants will need to demonstrate how the proposed funding will provide them with the enhanced capacity to pursue and leverage significant collaborative international research funding.
  • An external grant application for further development of the project must be submitted within 1 year of completion of the International Research Development Grant.

Eligible expenses

  • travel for principal investigators and research assistants,
  • data/archival materials,
  • supplies, and equipment.
  • Funding can also be used to facilitate meetings between international research teams to facilitate the development of partnerships.
