Purpose

This grant will fund a full-time research term for an undergraduate student. Provides research assistants for full-time faculty and is open to all academic departments. It is the intention of this program to provide undergraduate students with a "research" experience. Hence, these grants will not provide support for curriculum or course development.

Who can Apply?

• Full-time faculty only
• This grant is not available to faculty on Limited Term appointments

Application Requirements

• The application must contain the academic transcript and resume of the proposed Research Assistant.
• The proposed Research Assistant must be a Laurier student currently in the second, third, or fourth year of an Honours program in the applicant's home department.
• There is no need to describe the proposed research project in detail. A general description of the project and the role of the student in the project will suffice.
• Successful applicants must submit a short report within nine months of the commencement date, describing the outcome of the research project and the specific contributions of the Research Assistant.  Research Assistants will participate in a poster event in the Fall term to highlight their research project.
• Applications will be judged on the academic record and the value of the research experience for the student.
