The Strategic Plan is a living document. As research and training priorities emerge and collaborations strengthen, this document will be revised. 

 

The Science Committee of the Wilfrid Laurier University - Government of Northwest Territories is guided by the following vision, mission, mandates and objectives:

 

Vision

The waters of the Northwest Territories will remain clean, abundant and productive for all time.

 

Mission Statement

Working together to better understand and protect watershed health in the NWT through collaborative research, monitoring and capacity building programs.

 

Central guiding objective

Supporting water science in the NWT, for the NWT and by the NWT.

 

The mandate and objectives of the Science Committee are set out in its terms of reference.

 

Its mandate is to:

 

  • develop and coordinate a research framework based on key research themes;
  • promote activities directed at building linkages with networks and organisations at the local, national and international level;
  • oversee access to the infrastructure platforms and instrumentation under the terms of the Access Policy; and
  • maintain a Partnership website to facilitate the flow of information within the Partnership and between it and other entities;

 

Its objectives are to: 

  • develop and implement a coordinated and integrated research program;
  • develop and implement a coordinated training and capacity building program; and
  • establish improved infrastructure to assist in delivering the coordinated research and training programs.
