The Student Health and Development CentreThe Student Health and Development Centre is a collaborative effort of the Student Services departments, whose collective mission is to provide services primarily outside the classroom setting that will aid in the development, health and overall personal and academic success of both undergraduate and graduate students. The centre includes an open resource area equipped with displays and information covering a variety of health related topics. Health and Wellness information is available for personal or educational use. Some of the topics include information on depression, body image, nutrition, spiritual growth, men and women's health issues, Leave The Pack Behind, a smoking cessation program and other wellness concepts. Volunteer opportunities are available with our peer health education team providing outreach on a variety of issues including healthy behaviors and stress management. The centre also provides support to residence life and campus groups through substance abuse workshops, a variety of programming options and the resource lending library. The centre is the home base for our registered dietitian. Referrals are booked through Health Services. |
