Admission Requirements for Part-time Students
The normal requirement for admission to Ontario universities is completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six Ontario Academic Credits (OACs), or the completion of the Grade 12 U and/or Grade 12 M level courses, provided the courses meet the program prerequisite requirements.
Wilfrid Laurier University does not have a policy for mature students. Please refer to this section on adult students.

You are encouraged to provide examples of employment experiences, leisure activities or volunteer work that show good citizenship and leadership qualities. The Offer of Admission will outline clearly the conditions of academic probation and what you must do to qualify as a regular part-time student.
If you have attended another university or a college in the past, we must take your academic standing into consideration. However, we will also consider the length of time you have been away from your previous studies. Official transcripts are required from all post-secondary institutions and we will assess automatically any applicable transfer credit when making our admission decision. If you were required to withdraw from any post-secondary institution, including Laurier, you may apply for re-admission to begin studies no earlier than 12 months from the date of required withdrawal.

Once we receive your application form and official transcripts, we will review your file and mail our admission decision to you. If you are eligible for transfer credit, an assessment of your advanced standing will appear on your Offer of Admission. On occasion, an early conditional Offer of Admission is made pending receipt of final transcripts. In this case, a preliminary transfer credit assessment will be conducted on the basis of course/grade information available. Finalization of the transfer credit award will be assessed upon receipt of the official final transcript. It is your responsibility to be aware of the implications of registering in courses prior to the final transfer credit assessment.
The university is committed to granting appropriate transfer credit to the maximum extent possible. Factors that affect transfer credit include: the type of institution you attended, the applicability of the courses to the program you wish to enter, your grades and the minimum Laurier course requirements as outlined in the Undergraduate Calendar section entitled Residence Requirements. You may be asked to provide course descriptions from the institution you attended.
