If you are a new student and have never taken a course at Wilfrid Laurier University, the process to apply is as follows:

1. Complete Laurier's Part-Time Studies Application online
2. Make arrangements for official trancripts (sent directly from the issuing institution) to be forwarded directly to the Admissions Office at Wilfrid Laurier University. The Ontario government requires all universities to have official academic documents on file for each student.  Depending on your academic background these documents could include: 
   1. High school transcript   
   2. University transcript  
   3. Transcript from a college of applied arts and technology (CAAT)
3. Please note that once your Application for Admission has been processed and if you are eligible for admission to Laurier, your Offer of Admission letter will include instructions for registering on-line using Laurier's On-line Registration Information System (LORIS)

If you have been admitted to Laurier as a part-time student you have 12 months in which to register and complete a course.  If you have not done so within this time frame you must re-apply for admission.

If you have been admitted to Laurier and have completed one or more Laurier courses within the last 18 months you must complete and submit a Program Selection Form as well as the Distance Education Form (if applicable) to the Office of the Registrar in order to register for a course.

If you have been admitted to Laurier and have completed one or more Laurier courses but have not completed a course in the last 18 months, you must submit a Request for Re-registration Form as well as a Program Selection Form as well as the Online Learning Term Form (if applicable) to the Office of the Registrar in order to register for a course at Laurier.

Part-time students wishing to request transfer to full-time status must submit a Request for Full-time Studies Form to the Office of the Registrar.

If you have been asked to withdraw from Laurier please refer to the Re-admission procedures.

2. Complete Laurier's Part-Time Studies Application (the application code is UZ) along with the $50 application fee
   
   
3. Complete and submit the Intent to Register Form to the Office of the Registrar - as well as the Online Learning Term Form (if applicable)

***Please note that we cannot guarantee space in courses for students from other universities who register in Laurier courses. 

If you wish to attend classes without receiving academic credit, you will be identified as an audit student. You must submit Laurier's Part-Time Studies Application along with the $50 fee and be admitted to the university. Tuition fees are normally half the regular course fee, with a few exceptions where full course fees are applied.  Fees are not refundable (see course costs). 

Indicate the Unclassified Studies program code as your program selection. Audit students do not write final examinations, but may participate in classes to the extent allowed or required by the course professor.

Students attending Laurier must have sufficient facility in the use of the English language to understand and profit from instruction given in English. Students whose native tongue is not English must submit to the Admissions Office evidence acceptable to the university of their proficiency in English. Normally, this evidence is an acceptable score on either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB), or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL). A minimum score of 560 is required in the paper-based TOEFL; a minimum score of 220 is required in the computer-based TOEFL; a mimimum score of 83, with no component below 20, is required in the internet based TOEFL; a minimum score of 6.5 is required in IELTS; a minimum score of 85 is required in the MELAB; a minimum score of Band 70, with no band less than 60, is required in the CAEL.
