Community Safety and Security

Community Safety and Security has adopted the Neighbourhood Policing model to improve security visibility, response and safety. Special Constables will be assigned to a neighbourhood for a period of two years. This will allow our members to form partnerships with students and staff. It is very important that we have excellent customer service from our members. The Community Safety and Security are concerned with the safety of students, staff and visitors at Wilfrid Laurier University.

The first contact that staff, students or visitors have is with our student dispatchers. This position is very important and the first impression that you make with a complainant or victim will always be remembered. The student dispatcher is also the direct line of communication with security staff out in the field. Students who are interested in this position must be able to multi task and have excellent communication skills.

Hours of Operation: 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
Location: Bottom floor of the Student Services Building adjacent to the Dining Hall.
