Award for Teaching Excellence
This award was established to honour those
full-time faculty and part-time contract academic staff members who
excel in teaching. Up to two recipients (one full-time faculty member
and one part-time contract academic staff member) may receive the award
each year. Recipients of the WLU Award for Teaching Excellence will be
expected to have:
- a comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter;
- established a reputation among students
and colleagues for superior teaching, including the ability to interest
and motivate students to achieve high standards;
- demonstrated clearly that efforts are
made to keep abreast of new teaching methods, curriculum development
and course design; and
- made a contribution to the enhancement of the educational activities and responsibilities of the University
