1. Registration in a major is not permitted unless the student has obtained a GP(A) of at least 4.00 in the required junior credit(s) of the major subject. Exceptions must be approved by both the department offering the major and the dean of the appropriate faculty. The student must complete all requirements listed in the program description, with a cumulative GPA of at least 5.00 computed on all courses of the major subject.
2. Successful completion of 15.0 credits (or equivalent), of which no more than 3.0 credits may be Business courses, chosen in accordance with the regulations for all general degree programs, with a GPA of at least 4.00.
3. A general degree student must select a major no later than the beginning of Year 2. The student may also choose a second major, a minor or an available option at any time. A major must include any required junior credit(s) and a minimum of 4.0 but no more than 6.0 senior credits in the major subject. Where no junior credit is required or taken, the major must include a minimum of 5.0 senior credits in the major subject.
4. A maximum of 7.0 credits in a subject may be included in the program. This maximum is increased to 8.0 when 2.0 junior credits are required for a major in the subject concerned. Any cross-listed course credits are counted towards the maximum, regardless of the student's actual registration in such courses.
5. Students in registered in the Faculty of Science and in either a General BSc or a General BA program must successfully complete at least 1.0 credit (or equivalent) from each of the following Curriculum Divisions: A-Humanities, B-Social Sciences, C-Sciences. 
   
6. In General BSc programs, GG102 (or the former GG100*) may not be used to fulfill the Curriculum Division C requirement.

In addition to the Regulations Governing All General Major Programs and the applicable program requirements for the specific major, all General BSc students must choose courses so as to satisfy the following conditions:

1. The program must contain at least 3.0 credits from: BI100*; CH110 and CH111; GL100*; PC131 and PC132 (or PC141 and PC142).
   General BSc Computer Science and Physics majors may substitute CP104 and CP114 toward this requirement.
   Kinesiology & Physical Education (BSc) majors may substitute CP104 and one of CP102 or CP114, for GL100*.
2. The program must contain MA103 and MA104 (or another credit in mathematics or computer science as described in the program requirements for the student's major).
3. The program may not contain more than 8.0 junior (100 level) credits.
4. The program must contain at least 2.0 senior credits in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Division C Psychology courses, or in the courses identified as Physical Geography in the course description. Course credits fulfilling this requirement must not be in the student's (first) major subject, but may be counted toward a second major or a minor.
5. The program must contain at least 11.0 credits from the following list: all courses in Biology (except BI101*, BI102*), Chemistry (except CH120, CH121, CH204, CH205), Computer Science (except CP102), Geology, Mathematics (except MA130) and Physics, and Division C Psychology courses, as well as courses designated as Physical Geography in the course descriptions. For Physical Geography majors, the list will also include GG395 and GG396. For Kinesiology & Physical Education BSc majors, the list may also include Division C Kinesiology & Physical Education courses, as well as CP102. (Refer to Regulation 1 above.) For Psychology BSc majors, 1.5 credits of the 11.0 may be selected from any psychology courses. Other courses which cannot be counted towards fulfilling the requirement, or towards the BSc program, are: AS105*, SC101, SC102, SC103 or SC104.

In addition to the Regulations Governing All General Major Programs, and the program requirements, all General BA students must choose programs to satisfy the following conditions:

1. The program may not contain more than 7.0 junior (100 level) credits.
2. The majority of credits counting for the General BA degree must not be in Curriculum Division C. (This regulation does not apply to General BA Mathematics majors.)
