Laurier is one of the founding academic partners with the Communitech Hub located in Kitchener. The Hub is a 30,000 square foot facility dedicated to the growth and commercialization of Ontario's digital media industry. The Hub nurtures technology startups, splices innovation into larger companies, seeds strategic partnerships, fuses digital media research with venture capital and brings entrepreneurs, multinational companies and academic institituions together under one state-of-the-art roof. The Hub brings bigger ideas, better-connected companies and more jobs to Ontario.

This is a cross faculty, multi campus initiative that enables Laurier to play a key role in the growth and commercialization of Ontario's digital media industry. Laurier's students, faculty, staff and alumni are involved to commercialize new enterprises, undertake supportive projects for clients and other tenants, conduct research and provide mentorship.
