Food Service Facilities
Laurier provides its own food service operation catering to residence and non-residence students, offering nutritional meals with the flexibility and freedom of individual choice, including a wide variety of snack items.
Students living in university residence (except Bricker Residence, Laurier Place Residence, Regina Street Residence and University Place Residence) must purchase a meal plan (Plan A-C). Students living in residence with kitchens, or who live off-campus may wish to purchase a smaller meal plan or consider a value plan. The required meal plan is being reviewed, this may change for September 2011.
The required meal plan is divided into three parts. Prime dollars can only be used at any locations operated by WLU including the Dining Hall, Starbucks, Tim Horton's kiosks, Library Cafe and either the Waterloo College Hall and King Street Residence operations. Alternative dollars can be used at any on campus location listed above as well as The Terrace food court (including Harvey's, Mr. Sub, Pizza Pizza, The Union Market, The Pita Shack and Williams) and Wilf's. Off campus dollars will be accepted at a variety of off campus partners. For the most accurate details, check the OneCard website at waterloo.mylaurier.ca/onecard and for additional information, the Food Services website (listed above). Both on and off-campus vendors may change.
By agreement between Wilfrid Laurier University and the Wilfrid Laurier University Students' Union, beginning in September 2002, all residence students participating in meal plans will pay a 5 percent levy to assist in the payment for ongoing Food Service Facility renovations and upgrades.
