Location: First floor, Macdonald House The Association of Black Students (ABS) aims to welcome and inspire all that seek to become more aware and involved with the social injustices and racially based inequalities of the world. As representatives of historically marginalized ethnic communities, the members of ABS encourage people to listen and support one another in the presence of the challenges they may face and empower other students to be agents of change within the Laurier and Kitchener-Waterloo community. Location: First floor, Macdonald House The Multi-Faith Resource Team, which includes the university Chaplains, is available to assist students in their efforts to research or discuss ethical and theological issues. Realizing that university is a place which offers opportunity for students to enhance their own religious base and to be challenged by unfamiliar faith stances, the Resource Team is available for support and guidance. The WLU Rainbow Centre is dedicated to enhancing the university environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer individuals in the Laurier Community through awareness promotion, education, advocacy and support. Location: TA220 (Theatre Auditorium) The WLU Women’s Centre is a student service aiming to provide a safe space to support women’s unique and shared lived experiences. They strive to build a community and give voice to people and ideas recognizing and challenging gender inequalities on the WLU campus. The Student Diversity Committee is an initiative within the Office for Student Diversity and is composed of student leaders and staff that represent many different student service groups and cultural and religious campus clubs on campus. The main objective of the Student Diversity Committee is to educate the WLU community with respect to diversity, and to celebrate diversity through training, marketing & event planning. |
