Operations Management I

This course examines the role of the operations function in the organization by exploring long-term planning and strategic issues in managing, manufacturing and service operational systems. Topic areas include operations strategy, demand management, capacity planning, facility location and layout, product and service development, process design and quality management. Basic analytical techniques related to these areas are introduced and the relationship between operations management and other functional areas is emphasized.
