Honours BSc Financial Mathematics

The Honours BSc Financial Mathematics program consists of a minimum of 20.0 credits, including at least 9.0 and no more than 13.0 senior Mathematics credits. The program shall include no more than 7.0 100 level credits and must include the following:

Required Courses:
CP104, EC120, EC140
MA103 (or MA110*), MA104, MA121, MA122, MA170, MA201, MA205, MA215, MA222, MA240, MA250, MA270, MA304, MA340, MA351, MA370, MA371, MA372, MA450, MA455, MA470
1.0 senior Mathematics elective credit (including a 0.5 300 or 400-level MA elective).
At least 1.5 credits from: CP114; both BI110 and BI111; both CH110 and CH111; both GL101 and GL102; both PC131 and PC132
2.0 credits of senior non-mathematics Division C electives.

Regulations and Notes

  1. Electives must include a 0.5 credit in Curriculum Division A.
  2. For progression and for graduation, a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.00 in Mathematics and an overall GPA of 4.00 is required.
  3. EC260 and CP114 are recommended.
  4. The following is a suggested schedule within which all program requirements can be fulfilled. MA110* covers the same calculus topics as MA103, but includes a number of precalculus topics.  Either MA110* or MA103 serves as prerequisite for MA104.  Typically, students do both MA103 and MA104 in Year 1, or MA110* in Year 1 and then MA104 in Year 2:
