Honours BA Communication Studies in Combination with another Honours BA Program
The Honours BA Communication Studies in Combination
with another Honours BA program consists of 20.0 credits, of which a maximum of 6.0 credits may be at the 100 level.
The program must include at least 5.5 credits from the CS Core Courses
and 2.5 CS Program Electives as detailed below. A minimum of 2.0
credits must be at the 300 or 400 level.
CS Core Courses (5.5 credits):
CS100, CS101, CS203, CS235, CS400;
One of:CS401, CS402, CS403, CS405
Plus 2.5 credits from the following lists of courses with at least one 0.5 credit course from each category:
Communication History and Theory: CS204, CS207, CS212, CS304, CS322, CS323, CS325, CS401

CS340 and CS429 may be included in the program, subject to the regulations governing Irregular courses.
Students must take CS235
in Year 2. Students who are required to complete a research methods
course in a combined honours program, such as geography, political science,
psychology or sociology, may have the Research Methods (CS235)
requirement waived, provided they substitute another CS Core Course or
CS Program Elective for CS235. This must be approved by the department.
- Students are advised that senior courses normally have prerequisites.
- Students are advised that the department may approve the
inclusion of 300 and 400 level courses from cognate disciplines in a
particular student's program if the topics are relevant to their course
of study (e.g., PP480, SY402, SY404).
