Honours BA Near Eastern and Classical Archaeology
The Honours BA Near Eastern and Classical Archaeology consists of a minimum of 20.0 credits, of which not more than 6.0 may be at the 100 level. It must contain at least 12.0 but no more than 15.0 credits from Archaeology, Classical, Near Eastern, Greek, Latin, or Semitic Language courses and include
• AR101, AR102, AR214, AR215, AR219*, AR225, AR226
• one of AR244 or AR246
• one of AR341 or AR360
• 2.0 credits in Classical Archaeology, i.e., from AR321, AR323, AR325, AR327, AR329, AR331
• 2.0 credits in Near Eastern Archaeology, i.e., from AR305, AR307, AR346, AR347, AR420, AR421
• 1.0 credit from any of:
• 1.0 credit from any of: CL225/HI225, CL226/HI226, NE201, NE202
• 2.0 credits in ancient language from:
GPA Calculation
For purposes of progression and graduation, the cumulative GPA will be calculated on all courses belonging to the program.
- Students may wish to concentrate their course choices in either Near Eastern or Classical archaeology.
- Students
are encouraged to take the field course (AR219*) as early in the
program as possible. Field courses are normally offered over the summer
session, and should be taken at a site corresponding to the student's
primary area of interest if possible.
- Some courses may be offered on a rotating basis; it is the student's responsibility to plan his/her program accordingly.
- Students
who are planning to pursue graduate studies in this or a related field
are encouraged to plan their program with that goal in mind, and should
consider registering for the Ancient Language option.
