Administration Option

The Administration
Option is available only to
students registered in honours degree
programs. The number of places available to students in each of the faculties (Arts, Brantford Campus, Music, Science) is in direct proportion to the number of honours students in each of the faculties. Students must apply by April 13 of the
year they intend to enter the program using the
LORIS online program confirmation. Entry into the program is competitive and decisions are based on the applicant's overall
GPA as of April 30.
To be eligible, a student must have a minimum GPA of 6.0 in BU111 and BU121.
The Administration Option consists of the following 4.0 credits (8 courses: 7 required and 1 elective):

BU111 - Introduction to Business Organization
BU121 - Functional Areas of the Organization
BU223 - Fundamentals of Finance
BU228 - Management Skills
BU229 - Introduction to Marketing
BU237 - Accounting
BU285 - Introduction to Operations Management
Electives: Any one of the following:
EC120 - Introduction to Microeconomics
EC140 - Introduction to Macroeconomics
BU208 - Interpersonal Communication
BU231 - Business Law
BU233 - Personal Finance
BU311 - Business Management
- The Administration Option has been completely revised and the
new program commenced on September 1, 2005. Students currently
registered in the previous Administration Option can continue and
complete it using the prior regulations or they can adapt to the new
regulations.

A GPA of 7.00 in the courses specific to the Administration Option is required to graduate.

At least 3.0 of the 4.0 credits in the option must be completed at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Administration Option to the new Administration Option are as follows:
The eighth option course is one of BU208, BU233, BU311, EC120 or EC140.
Current students will have completed EC120 and EC140 as Year 1 required courses and BU208 as a Year 3 or 4 required course.
