1 Final day to submit application for Spring convocation (late fee and application fee apply); see Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees for Graduate Programs. No applications will be processed after this date
7 Spring term begins
13 Final day to drop spring term course(s) with no tuition charge but remain registered (students must remain registered in at least one course) (part-time MBA students only)
May 14 - May 20 Part-time MBA students who drop any course(s) in this timeframe (even if replaced with another course or courses) will be assessed 10 percent of the tuition fee for the dropped course(s)
20 Final day to withdraw from the university at 10 percent tuition charge
20 Final day for late registration and for adding spring term courses

Victoria Day, university-observed holiday

May 21 - Jul 2 If you withdraw from a course (or courses) (part-time MBA students) or from your graduate program (all graduate students) during this time period, you are responsible for 55 percent tuition
31 Final day for submitting final (post-defence) copies of dissertation/thesis/major research paper (as applicable to the graduate program) to Graduate Studies Office to receive full refund of spring term fees
 
June, 2012
4 Last day to drop 6-week course (started May 7) offered in spring term without academic penalty
5 From this day until the last day of classes in spring term, if you drop a six-week course (started on May 7), you will receive academic penalty (failure)

2 Canada Day, university-observed holiday
2 Final day for submitting final (post-defence) copies of dissertation/thesis/major research paper (as applicable to the graduate program) to Graduate Studies Office to receive partial refund (45 percent) of spring term tuition fee
2 Final day for withdrawing without failure from spring term courses and for possible tuition adjustment (tuition charge assessed at 55 percent)
3 From this date until the end of classes this term, if you drop a spring term course (part-time Waterloo MBA students only) or withdraw from your program (all students), you will receive academic penalty (failure) and are responsible for 100 percent tuition
 
August, 2012
1 Application to Graduate form and fee due for Fall Convocation without penalty (application fee applies); see Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees for Graduate Programs
Aug 2 - Oct 1 Late penalty fee applies on Application to Graduate forms received for Fall Convocation; see Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees for Graduate Programs
