9 Deadline for applicants currently registered in an Ontario Secondary School to apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) for full-time studies beginning in fall term

Mar 1 - Apr 30 Current Year 1 students who have not declared an honours specialization, and any student who wishes to make a change to their program, should do so during this time period in order to be able to register online during the June/July registration period.

30 Final day for current Year 1 students to declare an honours specialization and for any student wanting to change their program

9 All other continuing undergraduate students (including Diploma, Unclassified, Post-degree and Returning Year 1) – begin to select courses for fall/winter 2008-2009 using LORIS, ongoing throughout summer and fall/winter. 14 Application deadline for students requiring "Application for Admission" for part-time studies for fall term and fall/winter session. Distance education students are encouraged to register early. Eligible registrations received after this date will not be guaranteed for delivery of materials prior to the beginning of the term. Courses may also be cancelled or closed
15 Late registration charge - fall term and fall/winter (full-year courses),  (including Online Learning - formerly distance education). Avoid this charge by selecting courses prior to this date.
 
August, 2008
1 Final day for students registered in distance education courses to submit a distance education form requesting the required materials for those courses  to be shipped at no charge. Shipping charges apply after this date.
1 Final day to submit applications for fall convocation (application fee applies), refer to Miscellaneous Fees in the Financial Services chapter

8 Fall term and fall/winter session begins
10 Final day to drop first six-week course(s) which began September 8 but remain registered with no tuition charge
Sep 11 - Sep 12 If you drop/withdraw from 6-week course(s) during this time period, you are responsible for 10% tuition (assessed at 10% of the course rate, refer to the Schedule of Tuition Charges for Cancellation/Drop/Withdrawal and/or Fees)
12 Final day to add first six-week course(s) which began September 8
12 Final day to drop 12-week and fall/winter course(s) but remain registered with no tuition charge (students must remain registered in at least one course)
12 Final day to drop first six-week course(s) which began September 8 at 10 percent tuition charge (tuition charge assessed at 10% of course rate)
Sep 13 - Sep 19 If you drop/withdraw from 12-week course(s) curing this time period, you are responsible for 10% tuition (assessed at 10% of the course rate, refer to the Schedule of Tuition Charges for Cancellation/Drop/Withdrawal and/or Fees)
Sep 13 - Oct 3 If you drop/withdraw from 6-week course(s) during this time period, you are responsible for 55% tuition (assessed at 55% of the course rate, refer to the Schedule of Tuition Charges for Cancellation/Drop/Withdrawal and/or Fees)
15 Final day for Year 2 students applying for arts co-op and science co-op options
15 Final day for Year 2 students applying for the co-op option in the School of Business & Economics
19 Final day to add fall term and fall/winter classroom courses (including second six-week courses beginning October 21)
19 Final day to drop 12-week and fall/winter session course(s) or withdraw at 10 percent tuition charge (tuition charge assessed at 10% of course rate)
19 Final day to register for distance education courses and submit a distance education form (pick-up of distance education materials at the Waterloo campus only)
19 Final day to return fall term and fall/winter term distance education textbooks for refund
Sep 20 - Nov 3 If you drop/withdraw from 12-week course(s) during this time period, you are responsible for 55% tuition (assessed at 55% of the course rate, refer to the Schedule of Tuition Charges for Cancellation/Drop/Withdrawal and/or Fees)

3 Final day to drop first six-week course(s) which began September 8 without failure and for possible  tuition adjustment (tuition charge assessed at 55% of course rate)
4 From this date until the end of first six-week classes in this term, if you drop a first six-week fall term course that began September 8 or withdraw, you will receive academic penalty (failure) and are responsible for 100 percent tuition
13 Thanksgiving, university-observed holiday, no fall term or fall/winter session classes
20 First six-week course(s) that began September 8 end
21 Second six-week courses begin
23 Final day to drop second six-week courses which began October 21 but remain registered with no tuition charge
Oct 24 - Oct 27 If you drop/withdraw from 6-week course(s) during this time period, you are responsible for 10% tuition (assesses at 10% of the course rate, refer to the Schedule of Tuition Charges for Cancellation/Drop/Withdrawal and/or Fees)
27 Final day to drop second six-week courses that began October 21 at 10 percent tuition fee charge (tuition charge assessed at 10% of course rate)
Oct 28 - Nov 17 If you drop/withdraw from 6-week course(s) during this time period, you are responsible for 55% tuition (assessed at 55% of the course rate, refer to the Schedule of Tuition Charges for Cancellation/Drop/Withdrawal and/or Fees)
