Bioinformatics and Molecular Evolution (Prokaryotes)
A lecture and laboratory course which will provide students with an understanding of, and experience with, the current concepts and methods used in the study of molecular evolution of Prokaryotes using computational analysis. Students will learn how the phylogenetic information emerging from the constantly growing genome databases can be used to understand microbes as part of our ecosystems, as biotechnological tools, and as pathogens.
