Intermediate Pastoral Counselling Studies: Couple and Family Dynamics and Pastoral Care

An introduction to couple and family dynamics theory and therapy including the following areas: mate selection and couple development, normative family processes across the life cycle, parenting, communication, conflict resolution, separation and divorce, assessment and the process in couple and family therapy. The objective is to acquaint the student with principles of developmental and systems theory as these relate to couple and family therapy and enrichment models in pastoral care and counselling.
