Introduction to Biblical Studies: Literature and History of the Old Testament-Foundations

A study of Israel’s early times and writings. Special attention will be given to the Pentateuch, Joshua, Judges, Creation, Flood, Patriarchs, Exodus, Sinai, and settlement in Canaan. Comparisons with neighbouring cultures will be made where pertinent. Application of these materials to modern life will be made where it is appropriate. Attention will be given to the various methods of interpreting texts (hermeneutics).
