Human Biology - Physiology

This course begins with an introduction to the fundamental principles of physiology, including: membrane transport, energy metabolism, cellular communication and homeostasis. In the latter half of the course, these fundamentals will be applied to study the human physiological systems which relate to the study of kinesiology. Emphasis will be on the nervous, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory and renal systems. The laboratory component of this course is designed to illustrate the theoretical and practical concepts using computer simulations and human physiological recordings.
