Reading Seminar on the Zulu War

The Anglo-Zulu War of 1879 is the most famous of the Victorian era’s “little wars” of imperial conquest in Africa. This seminar course
examines why the Zulu kingdom failed to withstand the British invasion
and relates the social, economic, political and diplomatic issues of
the war to questions of military capability, strategy, tactics,
performance in battle and commemoration. {G}
