Reading Seminar on Post-1945 Europe
1.0 Credit
This class will examine selected aspects of the history of western and
eastern Europe from the end of the Second World War to the fall of
Communism. Possible topics include memories of fascism and the
Holocaust in post-war cultures, the politics of race and class in
Britain, decolonization, Americanization, the student
protests of 1968, subcultures, “urban terrorism” in the Federal
Republic of Germany, the politics of the new right, and
anti-communism.{S}
