0.5 Credit

This course examines and assesses the Reformation as a major transformative event in early modern European history. Topics that we will explore include: the late medieval background to the Reformation; the ideas of the principal Reformers; the radical sects; the secular implementation and enforcement of Reformation ideas; the efforts to reform Catholicism; the links between the Reformation and the Great Witch Hunt; and the Wars of Religion. {E} {P} {S}
