Fundamentals of Old Babylonian: phonology, the cuneiform writing system, grammar, and acquisition of a basic vocabulary and rudimentary reading skills. Students will learn to interpret and analyse simple selections primarily from Codex Hammurapi but are advised that achieving a minimal general reading competence requires successful completion of NE232 as well.
