Comparative Politics in Industrialized Countries

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to contemporary European politics and societies. The political systems of some of the major European countries and the European Union will be used as case studies. Each of these political systems will be examined from an institutional perspective. The emphasis on institutional analysis will be combined with a strong comparative (cross-national) perspective that will enable students to gain thorough understanding of the most important economic, social and political similarities and differences within the European region.
