Hollywood Triumphant? Examining Cultural Globalization

This course critically examines the charge that "western" cultural forms are creating a massive global monoculture. A variety of cultural products will be examined, including film and television, with special attention given to the argument that economic and cultural globalization are linked. Resistance and alternative forms will also be discussed.
