This course will focus on the examination of the theory, methodology and techniques of translation. The patterns and problems in the translation of scholarly texts from a variety of sources will be considered. The student will also be introduced to such theorists as Walter Benjamin, George Steiner, Paul de Mann, Jacques Derrida, Ovidio Carbonell, among others.
