As a specialist in Islamic studies, Dr. Meena Sharify-Funk focuses on contemporary Muslim thought and identity. She is particularly interested in debates concerning the status of Muslim women, in modern Muslim engagement with classical dilemmas in Islamic intellectual history, and in interreligious dialogue.
In addition to her research and teaching, Sharify-Funk has coordinated three international conferences and written and co-authored a number of books.
